The Emergency Management Coordinator is responsible for assisting with preparedness, response, and recovery of planned and unplanned events that impact the UVA Medical Center operations. This role ensures continuous and safe medical care operations under any environment for patients, employees, and guests. The position requires occasional after-hours work, including evenings and weekends, and thrives in a fast-paced, high workload environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with departments to prepare for planned and unplanned threats
- Develop, review, and revise Emergency Procedures
- Participate in Emergency Response for unplanned incidents
- Facilitate recovery efforts to return to normal operations
- Manage social media accounts and be proficient with UVA Alerts and Veoci software systems
- Assist with developing and staffing an ICS structured Medical Center Incident Command Team
- Conduct employee and staff outreach and education
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in emergency management or a related discipline
- One year of fulltime emergency management experience
- Ability to adjust to a changing environment and manage competing priorities
- Obtain IS-100, IS-200, IS-700 and IS-800 certificates within 60 days of employment
- Obtain Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) certification within 18 months of employment
